Going against the conventions..!!!!!

How far can we go against the conventions especially when you are a girl?A simple question but with a complicated answer, people of modern society will come up with the concept of equality but is it really so?In this era of instant  coffee and facebook where talking has become the most simplest thing to do how many of us really go after chasing our dreams and passion.Money talks all. Going against the conventions was never easy and when you are a girl its become all more difficult when you are always expected to take the safest path and then equality is left as the part of speeches.
Lets take a very simple example, all of us must be knowing about the better half of Prince William or whom Sidharth Mallaya is dating but how many of us know about the husband of Indira Noyi a name we all are familiar with how many time have we seen her better half.Behind every successful man there is woman but when the same is applied on woman it will be like a lot of struggle and sacrifices made on the family front. Both rarely goes hand in hand. Most of the time a woman success leaves a void in her personnel life.
Moving ahead forget the career part lets talk about day to day life.Ask a girl how difficult is it for her to travel alone. We talk about conventions and traditions right??So may I ask the people who created these traditions that does it allow a guy to eve tease a girl or rape her if she is moving without her father/brother/husband/boyfriend??Worst when such incident happen no doubt the guy who did the crime is given the punishment if caught but the same society looks down the girl and a whisper is heard who asked the girl to travel alone. Instead of teaching girls the time of travel and dressing how about correcting males basics.Welcome to our Incredible India.
If a girl goes against it,she is asked to shut up.I read it in a famous novel where a girl moves in her boyfriend room and the guy was the called STUD and the girl SLUT.Different word to describe two sections of human species and we are talking about a country of high conventions and traditions where rules are equal for every sections.Double standard and hypocrisy is what I will call and we seem to  have done masters in that.
We agree or not being a girl was never easy. She might have got the freedom in many aspects but the freedom to live still awaits. How many times I have seen my mom sacrificing  her thoughts for the family even my dad does but I cannot compare the amount.A girl identity is known by her father before marriage and by her husband post marriage.Ask a woman who has lost her husband how difficult it becomes for her to survive not only because she has to play both roles and to struggle to make both ends meet but our over empathetic society will never maker her forget her loss which she will obviously not after all marriage is such a pure institution and losing one life partner leaves with infinite pain and suffering but when its a woman it means end of the world. She is left all alone, even then society never leaves a stone unturned to make her feel it.
Being a single and working woman is another difficult thing in this society.Hats off to all the woman who does it for the sake of their children.
Now I can only Hope things will change and females will get their due respect, where a birth of a girl will equally be rejoiced as a birth of a boy.Hope the conventions will change and people will get to know a female worth after all She is the one who makes  house a home.Hope chasing dreams will be a reality for us and we will get teh freedom to LIVE and not only the freedom to select from choices.
